Flag Day!

On June 14, Americans celebrate the adoption of the first national flag. Also known as the "Stars and Stripes" or "Old Glory," the first American flag was approved by the Continental Congress on June 14, 1777.
Today we honor our flag and what it stands for in this time of uncertainty.  Cora and I encountered many patients today who have fought for this country in past wars.  Now, they are fighting for their lives again, against a disease that should have been conquered years ago.  How humbled I am to see them reach out and touch a mere dog that for a few moments eases their battle.

New Horizons!

Cora and I spent our last day volunteering at Mayo in June.  We will miss our friends, but our journey will continue bringing smiles and comfort in Florida.  I've been searching for our "niche" here and we will soon be back working as a therapy dog team.  During the move I completed my Evaluator status with Pet Partners and am now studying for my Instructor license.  Hope to have all that done in about 6 weeks.  That way I can teach people how they can join this special force of animal healers!  More to come soon!

Fun Time Video with Cora!

Just a sample of a fun time at Mayo with Cora !

Remember

Cora and I visited Mayo a day early yesterday but it didn't stop us from remembering that tragic day of 9/11.  Here she "salutes" all our fallen heroes.  Many of our visitors are ex military veterans and returned Cora's salute with a smile on their faces.
