| I don't know which was more radiant today, the sun in Phoenix or the smiles that appeared on the faces of people that Cora visited with at Mayo Hospital. Therapy dogs just bring out the warmth inside of a person. These dogs share their souls with those that need a bright spot in their day. Our new friend here, after inquiring about therapy dogs, gave the greatest of compliments when he said, "You inspire Me". His plan is to look into training his own beloved canine companion at home to be a therapy dog. Never can have too many furry healers! |
Cora and I spent our last day volunteering at Mayo in June. We will miss our friends, but our journey will continue bringing smiles and comfort in Florida. I've been searching for our "niche" here and we will soon be back working as a therapy dog team. During the move I completed my Evaluator status with Pet Partners and am now studying for my Instructor license. Hope to have all that done in about 6 weeks. That way I can teach people how they can join this special force of animal healers! More to come soon!
