Keep the Music Playing!

Listening to your favorite music can make you feel relaxed.   Now research also proves that interaction with animals during times of stress has the ability to lower blood pressure, reduce muscle tension and ease physiological factors associated with anxiety and depression.  Hospitals and clinics have always had that "elevator music" playing in the background.   Today utilizing Therapy Animals in these settings has become part of a care plan for many.  The interaction between human and animal improves social and cognitive function.  Keep the music playing, but encourage and support Animal Assisted Activities and Therapy!

New Horizons!

Cora and I spent our last day volunteering at Mayo in June.  We will miss our friends, but our journey will continue bringing smiles and comfort in Florida.  I've been searching for our "niche" here and we will soon be back working as a therapy dog team.  During the move I completed my Evaluator status with Pet Partners and am now studying for my Instructor license.  Hope to have all that done in about 6 weeks.  That way I can teach people how they can join this special force of animal healers!  More to come soon!

Fun Time Video with Cora!

Just a sample of a fun time at Mayo with Cora !

Remember

Cora and I visited Mayo a day early yesterday but it didn't stop us from remembering that tragic day of 9/11.  Here she "salutes" all our fallen heroes.  Many of our visitors are ex military veterans and returned Cora's salute with a smile on their faces.
