Play ball!
Today is playtime with lots of excercise to get ready for our visit tomorrow at the Mayo Clinic! Keeping any dog busy with an activity is vital in having a sound dog. Dogs that are involved in AAT and AAA therapy programs perform much better when their stored energy is able to be releashed prior to a visit. But don't worry, Cora will be wagging that tail and ready for all the hugs!
Cora and I spent our last day volunteering at Mayo in June. We will miss our friends, but our journey will continue bringing smiles and comfort in Florida. I've been searching for our "niche" here and we will soon be back working as a therapy dog team. During the move I completed my Evaluator status with Pet Partners and am now studying for my Instructor license. Hope to have all that done in about 6 weeks. That way I can teach people how they can join this special force of animal healers! More to come soon!
Cora and I visited Mayo a day early yesterday but it didn't stop us from remembering that tragic day of 9/11. Here she "salutes" all our fallen heroes. Many of our visitors are ex military veterans and returned Cora's salute with a smile on their faces.
